Jacques-Henri approached us to update the kitchen and bathroom in his post-industrial apartment located in the center of Brussels. The most radical adjustment was to break down the block between the hallway and the kitchen where the storage room and bathroom were located. By redefining the layout and moving the doors to the sides of the block, the space became more practical in use and visually more serene.
The glass in the wall of the bedrooms reflected the sounds a lot. The curtain that was placed not only solved the acoustic problem but also provided an extra touch of colour.
We blended old and new by using clean lines and adding a bold mix of colours and materials, while respectfully preserving the original character of the space.
